Year 3-7
Sports Day

Marist
Park was a sea of red, blue, yellow and green as Tenison
Woods College held its annual Year 3-7 Sports Day on Friday
26 March.
Early
showers failed to dampen the spirits of the students who hit
the field in their team colours for a day of fun and
competition.
The day
was a culmination of a term’s work in Physical Education
Classes learning the correct techniques of track and field
events.
The
morning kicked off with the track events, including the 100m
and 200m sprints and hurdles.
Between
recess and lunch, students competed in field events
including long jump, high jump, long throw, shot put and
discus.
After
lunch, the field events were wound up and students took part
in the open 400m and year level relays, as their team mates
cheered on.
Points
were recorded both individually and for house teams, and
were collated at the end of the day to establish the winning
house team and champions for each year level.
The
Champagnat team was victorious on the day, taking home the
coveted shield ahead of Woods, McAuley and MacKillop.
Overall
team results were as follows:
Champagnat 3894 points
Woods 3775
McAuley
2864
MacKillop
2577
There
were also some outstanding individual results on the day,
with the school crowning its male and female champions for
each age group.
