Ash Wednesday
Christians throughout the South East have attended church
services on Wednesday to
celebrate
and honour the day of religious significance known as Ash
Wednesday. Marking the beginning of Lent, Ash Wednesday is
the traditional religious season of prayer, fasting, and the
giving of alms in the lead up to Easter.
Tenison Woods College students Levi Von Stanke, Brad
Williams and Prudence Riddoch were among those to receive
the traditional cross of ashes on their forehead on
Wednesday following Ash Wednesday prayer services held at
the College
