Year 12
Results 2009

With today’s release of this year’s South Australian
Certificate results in the mail and online to more than
17,000 students across the state, it is now decision time
for hundreds of Year 12 students.
After 13 years of schooling, students face the looming
decisions between further education, the workforce or
perhaps a gap year for a 'well-earned rest'.
Year 12 students across the South East have made it a year
to remember and are celebrating a successful 2009. Students
from the region exceeded expectations achieving great
results in the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).
At Tenison Woods College nineteen students (or 26% of the
Year 12 contingent) achieved a TER of greater than 90. The
College Dux prize for 2009 was awarded to Laura Elliot-Jones
and Emily Pulford both with a TER result of 98.85.
A further thirteen (or 18%) of students gained a TER of
greater than 80.
Out of all the subjects completed 26% were A grades 66% were
A or B grades.
Five students Laura Elliot-Jones, Frances McInerney, Emily
McPharlin, Jacinta Oulton and Emily Pulford attained
straight A’s for all five subjects completed.
There were eleven perfect scores (20/20) with Emily Bosco
(English Communications & Psychology), Frances McInerny
(Mathematical Applications & Psychology), Sam Bird
(Recreation In the Community), Laura Elliot-Jones (French),
Stefanie Lopriore (English Communications), Emily McPharlin
(Psychology), Benjie McQuade (Technology in the Community,
Jacinta Oulton (Psychology) and Emily Pulford (Psychology).

Some Interesting Statistics:
• 45% of students achieved a TER of 80 or greater.
• 26% of students placed in the top 10% of the state.
• 14% of students placed in the top 5% of the state.
• Students scored 99 A’s which is more than 25% of the state
average.
• 11 Merit Certificates were achieved.
The results achieved in 2009 are a testament to a great deal
of hard work and all students, their parents and teachers
are to be acknowledged for the outstanding effort these
results represent.
