Daniel Stratford, combined with Andrew Summerville, provide
a unique course of elite level basketball opportunities for
those Student Athletes who are looking to further their
academic studies while also furthering the Basketball
careers.
Andrew
Summerville - Head Coach
Titans Head Coach Andrew Summerville has a wealth of
experience in coaching at elite levels in the
USA, Canada and Australia. He has coached at College level
in the US and Canada and professionally in the NBL and ABA.
Coach Summerville spent the last three years as an assistant
coach at the University of Toronto in Canada where he
assisted former Canadian Olympic coach Mike Katz.
During his time in Toronto he also spent some time working
closely with staff from the Toronto Raptors NBA franchise,
gaining some valuable insight into the game at the highest
level. In 2006, Summerville led the QABL's Bundaberg Bulls
to the best season in the club’s history with a record of
20-5. He also spent some valuable time as an assistant coach
with the Brisbane Bullets in the NBL in 2004. Prior to
joining the Bullets, Summerville was an assistant coach at
Martin Methodist College, an NAIA school in Tennessee, USA.
During this time he helped guide the Red Hawks who were
ranked fourth in the nation to an appearance at the NAIA
National Tournament.
Summerville has also been an assistant at the ABA level to
the South West Pirates in the QABL and the Southern
Districts Spartans in the ABA winning the State Championship
in 1998. He was also the Head Coach of the South West
Pirates D-League team. Summerville’s vast experience has
seen him coach junior club, representative and state teams,
high school teams in both the USA and Australia,
International touring teams and AAU teams in the USA.
Summerville is currently the Head Coach of the Mount Gambier
Pioneers in the SEABL.

Daniel Stratford - Director of
Basketball
Director of Basketball Daniel Stratford, is a Tenison Woods
College old scholar (1987-1992). Daniel returned as a staff
member in 1998 and has completed a number of Leadership
roles at the College, including being Head of Middle School
for four years and Sports Coordinator for eight years.
Daniel was involved in the SA country basketball system
through his junior playing days representing South Australia
before going on to become a member of the Mt Gambier
Pioneers in 1991 and 1992. Daniel then moved to Adelaide to
attend University, while also furthering his Basketball
career with the Forestville Eagles and winning multiple
championships. A return to the Mt Gambier Pioneers and
teaching position at Tenison woods College followed, as
Daniel developed his skills both as a player and a coach.
Daniel has coached many successful Tenison Woods College
Basketball teams and was also an assistant coach to Jason
Sedlock with the Pioneers in 2007.
Since re-joining the Tenison Woods College community in
1998, Daniel has continued to develop the strong Tenison
Basketball culture established by Barrie Holmes and Bob
Brown. Barrie and Bob developed a strong basketball
tradition and achieved great success through the late 80’s
and mid 90’s, winning 14 state championships. Under Daniel’s
guidance, Tenison Woods College Basketball has continued to
grow from these roots with continued success at State level,
and the introduction of the Junior Basketball Academy and
USA tour in 2005, and the Senior TITANS Basketball Academy
in 2010.
Daniel’s experience as Sports Coordinator over the past
eight years, running three highly successful USA tours, and
also designing and introducing the latest in personalised
basketball curriculum, makes him well qualified to lead this
academy.
Daniel has a strong history through ABA and SEABL levels of
competition, a real passion for basketball and Tenison Woods
College, and is driven to ensure that each individual
student receives every opportunity to achieve their personal
goals. With networks throughout all levels of the Australian
and USA Basketball systems, Daniel has the knowledge and
resources to create the best basketball opportunities for
all student athletes.
